the best online courses with certificates

You want to learn digital marketing but you’re lost on which websites for online courses with certificates you should start with? This list is my top 5.

I will be showing you the way to a successful and remote career in digital marketing.

It doesn’t matter if you are just starting or don’t have a degree or experience.

I started out learning from all the sources available online.

For FREE!

Yes, marketing is now so digitalized that you can become an expert in any of the various fields in internet marketing just by finding suitable courses online.

There are many courses from the most reputable companies in the world that are totally free or low priced, provide certifications, and can be a great start to build that marketing base knowledge that you can use to find remote job opportunities.

So let’s start exploring the best online courses with certificates currently available.

  1. Google

Everyone knows Google, even my 6 year old son knows what Google does.

It’s the most popular search engine in the world.

However, Google does so much behind-the-scenes work for websites, and they have their own Academy website where you can learn so much about their products and how to work with them. No matter what part of digital marketing you decide to specialize in, Google Analytics Certification is the one you can’t go wrong with.

Analyzing what’s happening on a website will always be a skill in demand because it means that you can see what’s good and what needs improvement to do your part in that process.

Having a degree doesn’t require you to know how to work with Google Analytics, and it is one of the fundamental skills when working online.

Google Ads Certifications are the other must-have training, especially if you plan to pursue a career in social media management and paid ads or want to develop and work on your own business or personal brand.

Google Digital Garage also has various free marketing and business courses that, as they state, “Anyone can benefit, [from] regardless of their skill level, goals or background.”

Having Google certifications builds your confidence level and shows potential employers or businesses interested in your services your credibility, dedication, and professionalism.

You can’t go wrong with Google!

  1. Facebook Blueprint

If you have always wanted to learn everything about Facebook and Instagram and how everything is interconnected, Facebook Blueprint is the place to go.

You can pick from different certification programs.

The courses and training are free.

When you are ready to take the exam, registration costs “up to the equivalent of USD 150 per exam” and depends on the country you are in.

Every business in today’s times needs some kind of online presence.

And it doesn’t matter if you like Facebook or not. It is a dominant platform where every marketer needs to know how to present their own and their clients’ brands.

With Facebook Blueprint, you will gain knowledge and skills within Facebook’s organic and paid presence, Business Manager (the business side of Facebook), Facebook Pixel, Instagram marketing, and everything else you need to know about the two platforms.

  1. LinkedIn Learning

LinkedIn is now focusing more on education because they saw that this is the direction the world is going in.

If you don’t have a LinkedIn account yet, go ahead and create one and head to LinkedIn Learning.

The platform is full of different courses and different subjects.

I think the Marketing and Small Business, and Entrepreneurship sections will be most valuable for our purpose here.

You can easily get lost in all the courses that are on there.

So when you go to a specific area, click on Learning Paths in the left-hand side menu to see a more narrowed down and systematic path.

The Learning Paths are the most relevant courses to that subject.

Once you finish with a Learning Path, you get a certificate that I recommend you place in the Education section of your resume/CV, and everywhere else you showcase your credentials.

The platform is free for the first month, then it’s $29 a month (or £24.98 in the UK), and you can cancel that at any time.

It is a great place to start, and the Marketing Learning Paths can give you a great base and knowledge of all the different parts of digital marketing.

  1. Udemy

I love Udemy.

If you haven’t already tried some courses there, I highly recommend checking them out.

Their classes are mostly paid, but they have big sales events all the time. Sign up to make sure you don’t miss out.

They have online courses with certificates on pretty much every subject you can think of.

You can easily get lost in all of them.

Before committing to one, my advice is to do your research.

First of all, I look at the contents of the course to see if it’s what I expect it to be and if it’s relevant to what I’m looking to learn.

I then read the reviews and compare all of them

Finally, I always look up the creators and research their credibility.

Many times the courses include even more than what I expect them to.

Once you purchase a program, you will have lifetime access to it, and many course creators update their courses to stay relevant in our always-changing field.

  1. HubSpot

HubSpot is a software platform designed for businesses to have everything they need in one place.

You can try it for free to get the hang of it and see all the possibilities it provides.

Under Resources, you will find all the free certifications they provide.

HubSpot is a well-known product that many companies are familiar with.

One or more of their certifications will make a difference when looking for opportunities as a freelancer or applying for a marketing remote role at a company.

I recommend you start with Inbound Marketing as it is one of the most popular and eye-opening courses on HubSpot.

You won’t go wrong with any of the other ones too.

Many other course websites provide in-depth learning of the different topics in digital marketing. The ones above are the essential ones to get you started if you know you want to build your marketing knowledge but don’t know where to start.

Pick and choose the ones that you think are most relevant to you.

Having a stack of certifications will open doors for you when it comes to looking for paid work. You will also gain confidence that you are familiar with the terminology and know what to talk about.

Make sure you find ways to practice your newly learned skills as well. Here are a few ideas on how to do that.**

Till next time, don’t ever stop learning!
