Best Careers Working Remotely In Digital Marketing

Working from home

Is it just me or is the topic about “why would someone be an employee who’s living paycheck to paycheck, commuting and working 9-5, making someone else’s dreams come true and not working remotely” getting old?

I wonder what percentage of the working population was thinking that days before the world was turned around by Covid-19.

I guess it’s human nature. We (people) like to do things the way they’ve been done before.

And when something of this size impacts the whole world, it can sometimes trigger progress and improvement.

That’s me looking on the bright side.

Whatever the reason, remote working is here to stay.

Not only that but businesses and different industries will be looking for ways to make it possible for a big part of their businesses as possible to be done remotely.

The Pros

When you Google “working remotely”, most of the results are articles about the pros and cons of working from wherever you feel like.

I will only give you the pros because I can only see them.

There is a debate about how certain people can feel depressed with no live social interaction. And this is a valid point.

However, we won’t be here to discuss working remotely because we don’t have another choice and it’s a time of a global pandemic.

We will be focusing on the beauty of the freedom that remote working can give you.

I, along with most people on Earth hope that these times of uncertainty will be over soon.

The world, however, will still keep on turning with a lot more open-mindedness to remote working.

This series of articles is for those of you who want to take full advantage of working from your laptop.

That means more freedom, more time for the other important things in your life, more traveling, more independence, and feeling in control of your lifestyle.

So you’re welcome even if you’re an extrovert who thinks that working “from home” is not for you.

Because working “from home” can mean working from a co-working place full of interesting people.

It can mean working from Bali meeting new people and learning about a different culture. What I’m trying to say is that during normal circumstances the whole remote working thing can make your life exactly what you’ve always wanted it to be.

The list of positions that are currently allowing remote working is way too long.

But here’s a list of the ones that you can find more info about here.

I promise to go in-depth in each one shortly and if you think I’m missing any, I’d be grateful if you let me know.

Who is it for?

There have been a lot of people longing to work online because they also have a life and family.

Usually, SAHM (stay-at-home moms) is one of the main demographics. They are highly interested in the topic for obvious reasons.

High-school, college students following Gary Vee, and having little entrepreneurs hidden in them are another big part of the group of people wishing to find their place in the world of remote working.

After people and businesses were forced to show off their creative skills in having their businesses keep on working as normal it is also financially beneficial to gain the skills needed to be office-independent.???

So where do you start?

I’m here to guide you on this adventure.

Can you start a new career in the digital marketing field from scratch? Absolutely and anytime, it doesn’t matter your gender, origin, or age. The only important thing is for you to want to do it and to make the decision that you will.

Do you have to go to college? Nooo!

Is it expensive to learn how to? I will show you how to keep your expenses while you learn to a minimum. Way cheaper and more effective than college though.

Will you get hired without a degree? Yes! More and more huge companies have started removing the degree requirement.

Digital marketing is moving way too quickly for any college or university to be able to keep up with it.

Currently, the best way to learn is to start practicing.

And it’s really easy to do that.

I am doing it right now while writing this.

Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, email marketing platforms, online courses, videos, articles, and news are constantly at our fingertips.

You can create your own website to show off your skills.

It’s just a matter of doing, trying new things, testing what’s working and what’s not, and being able to optimize when something doesn’t bring fruitful results.

Which companies you can get into?

Here’s the very shortened and simplified list of companies you’ve totally heard of that don’t require having a degree to consider you. And with a little bit of direction and hard work you will be able to apply for one of them in just a few months:

Google

Apple

IBM

Starbucks

Intel

These are just a few well-known huge companies that have put the marketing degree behind them.

I’m not saying education isn’t important and you should avoid it.

All I’m saying is that if you know you want to go down the digital marketing path, you can do it on your own and you’ll probably be more up-to-date than a college graduate.

It has become a common opinion among marketers.

When asked the question of the need for a degree Amberlea Henriques of #AdSocial says: “By no means do you need a degree (or even a high school certificate) but you do need to have studied the subject if you want to grow a business in digital marketing.”

She also adds how important is to go through the various platforms’ certification courses and programs “to learn current techniques and strategies.”

All I’m saying is that if you want to go down the digital marketing path, you can do it on your own and you’ll probably be more up-to-date than the regular college graduate.

I recommend you take a look at this Databox article to see what the majority of marketers think about what’s more important than the marketing college degree in today’s fast-paced world.

Having as many of the renowned certifications like Google Analytics as possible and listing them on your resume can open the doors to the digital marketing field.

If you’ve made it so far, you doubtlessly have a genuine interest in turning your life around and taking your career into your own hands.
